TikTok Food and Recipes Hashtags: View and Engagement Data

To get your food and recipe content seen on TikTok, you need to target the right audience. Based on a sample of 79 high-performing posts this week, which averaged 11,331,563 views and a 6.62% median engagement rate, tags like #asmr, #foodtiktok, and #cooking are driving massive reach. Rather than using all of these tags at once, select a mix of broad terms and specific recipe tags that match your exact video.

ContentScout's own analysis: we sample real public posts matching food & recipes search terms on TikTok and score them by how much engagement they're getting relative to how recently they were posted. Hashtags are ranked by the average views of the posts using them, not by how often they appear. The numbers describe those posts, they don't promise results.

How is this hashtag data measured?+

This data was collected by ContentScout, a tool that analyzed a sample of 79 public, high-performing TikTok posts in the Food & Recipes niche this week. Because this is the first time we have compiled this data, there are no prior runs to compare these numbers against yet.

Which hashtags have the highest average views?+

#asmr leads the list with an average of 53,928,272 views across 5 posts in the sample. It is followed by #foodtiktok, which has an average of 39,762,308 views across 3 posts, and #pasta, which has an average of 30,499,341 views across 3 posts.

Which hashtags are the most commonly used in the sample?+

The broad hashtag #cooking is by far the most common, appearing on 33 posts in our sample with an average of 16,693,621 views. Other highly frequent tags include #recipe with 24 posts and #easyrecipes with 23 posts.

Does using these hashtags guarantee high view counts?+

No, a tag's average views describe the performance of the specific posts in our sample, not a guarantee for future uploads. For example, #baking has a high average of 28,390,743 views and a 12.11% median engagement rate, but this is based on only 2 posts in the sample.

Should I use all 20 of these hashtags on my videos?+

You should not use all of these hashtags at once. Instead, combine broad tags like #food (17 posts in the sample) with specific recipe tags like #airfryerrecipe (3 posts) or #chicken (4 posts) to keep your caption relevant to your actual content.
